CQ can be used on non-damaged vents
Date posted: May 20, 2012
If you have just bought a home or have rental property, even if you dont have damaged vents if squirrels are around they will likely get to them at some point. CQs can be used on non-damaged vents as well as damaged because the internal componants dont penentrate the top of the vent. So buy some CQs to protect your investment or your home.
High Pitch Units
Date posted: May 14, 2012
High pitch units, 12 pitch and above, are an inch taller than standard units and have more screw holes. They are taller because we need to make sure we provide internal clearence. The additional screw holes are because its hard to mount when the roofline make screwing them into place difficult. If a mixture of units is ordered they will all be made to the same height to provide a standard height on the roof.

Undamaged Vents
Date posted: April 27, 2012
Remember, a CQ can be installed on an undamaged vent to keep it from becoming damaged. This is because the internal componants dont penentrate the vent, they hover above it. So if you have a new roof install CQ’s to protect your investment.

Flashing Damage down to the Roofline
Date posted: April 17, 2012
If you have no flashing left, you will need to re-flash. A CQ requires at least an inch of flashing left at the base around the vent to work. But once you reflash install a CQ and you will never have to worry about that again.

New Video on Vent Sizing
Date posted: April 5, 2012
We are working on a video to go on the order page to explain how to measure a vent, how to get pitch, and what size to order. This seems to be an issue as the lead flashing is always larger than the actual vent. Dont expect Hollywood quality.
